star forward Stephanie Licht and defeated Immaculate 4-1 in the Western
Connecticut Conference semifinals. Katie Ball scored a pair of goals for the
Lady Indians and Lynn Lattanzio and Sarah McQuilken each added insurance

school-record streak of ten-consecutive shutouts come to an end. Harris hadn't

Pete Meier, Mike Wertz, and Bob Knapp all scored touchdowns for the Indians
while Bob Scott, Bart Smith, Bill Clark, and Dan Weaver continued to pace the
rock solid NHS defense.

played to a 0-0 tie on the football field at Hawley School. Rick Matern caught

The Social Athletic Club (SAC) was saddened by the death of charter member
Walter Trumbull. The clubhouse holds many reminders of him such as autographed
baseballs, Grantland Rice's last book, an autographed picture of Jack Dempsey
which Mr Trumbull took the trouble of having him sign especially for the boys,
and many sports books which he sent back whenever he travelled to the south
west. As a sports editor for many years, and a member of a distinguished
family, he knew most of the sports greats of his time.
