Nevinson At Yale

NEW HAVEN — The British artist Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson (1889-1946) is probably best known for his powerful and unflinching descriptions of the First World War, but that work is only one aspect of an extraordinarily diverse career. Through May 7, Yale Center for British Art is presenting the first retrospective of C.R.W. Nevinson’s work to be held in the United States. The major presentation provides a long overdue and comprehensive reassessment of Nevinson’s contribution to 20th Century art.

Yale Center for British Art is at 1080 Chapel Street, at the corner of High. It is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm. Admission is free. For additional information, call 203/432-2800.
