Ida Safarewitz

Ida Safarewitz, 88, died on February 14 at the Bethel Health Care Center in Bethel.

She was the mother of Michael Safarewitz of Newtown.

Born in New York, Mrs Safarewitz was a longtime resident of Bridgeport and Milford. She was predeceased by her husband Benjamin.

She is also survived by her sister, Lillian Gambitsky of New Hyde Park, N.Y.; another son, David Safarewitz of Red Bank, N.J.; two grandchildren, Deborah Sides of Pearl City, Hawaii, and Brian Safarewitz of Nashua, N.H.; three great-granddaughters, Sarah Sides and Brianna and Alexandra Safarewitz; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services were held in Brooklyn, N.Y., on February 17 and burial was on February 18 at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Flushing, N.Y.
