Occupation: I am a licensed practical nurse on the Danbury Hospital staff, working in the office of Dr David Trock, a rhumatologist. I received my LPN at Overlook Hospital School of Nursing in Summit, N.J.

How Long in Newtown: I have lived in Newtown for 18 years. Prior, I lived in Tomâs River, N.J. A job transfer for my husband brought us to Newtown. I grew up in Glen Rock in Bergen County, N.J. Our children went through all levels of public education here. I have the highest praise and thanks to them for doing a fine job of preparing my children so well for college.
Biggest Change Seen in Town: For me, the biggest change is all the new storefronts that have gone up. When I first came to Newtown, there was Queen Street and the Grand Union and Rickyâs Shopping Center. Another change is all the new housing developments.
Family: My husband, Mike, and I have been married for 22 years. Mike has been working for Union Carbide for 28 years. We have two children. Rebecca is attending graduate school at Temple University for a masterâs in music therapy. Todd is a sophomore at the University of New Hampshire, majoring in political science.
Pets: We have a dalmatian named Maggie.
Hobbies: I have been running for about ten years. I recently completed a 15K race in Bridgeport. Iâm out on the roads year round. Running is my passion, and itâs a great stress releaser. I also enjoy boating on Lake Lillinonah. We love it. We bring the dog and take a cooler and hang out on the lake. Itâs a great spot.
Favorite Books and Authors: I love to read, and wish I had more time for it. It sometimes takes me several months to finish a book. I love books by Mary Higgins Clark and Sidney Sheldon. Years ago, I loved reading Nancy Drew books.
Favorite TV Show: ER, probably because of my medical background.
Organizations: Iâm a member of the Newtown Choral Society. We give two concerts a year, one during the holiday season and another in the spring. Our spring concert is coming up on May 27 at the Meeting House. I am also a member of the Newtown Congregational Church where I serve on the usher committee. I have helped with senior youth group activities, including as a work camp advisor on a trip to Ohio.
Most Vivid Memory of Newtown: I have so many wonderful memories of Lake Lillinonah. I think itâs a great hidden secret of Newtown. Many people donât realize itâs in Newtown. There are so many lovely family times we have spent there with the kids, the dog, and the boat.
Favorite Vacation Spot: Cape May, N.J. When the kids were young, we had a camper and would go to our favorite campground. As the kids got older, we went to bed and breakfasts that had Victorian charm and the ocean and shore right there.
Personal Philosophy: I try very hard to put some good in someoneâs life, to make them feel better through the touch of a hand or smile, to connect with them so they know someone cares about them.
