DANBURY 7, NEWTOWN 5: Newtownâs combined squads (Duke, Loyola, Syracuse, and UMass) played host to Danbury in a hard-hitting and tightly-contested match at Taylor Field. Scoring for Newtown was Sam Archie and Tim Wheeler each with two goals. Erik Dreher added a score and had an assist on the day as well. Attackmen Dan Lawrence, Peter Omalyev and Peter Leone provided continuos offensive pressure to keep the Hatters in their defensive zone. Steven Dooling, Gus Ryer and Spencer Snell prowled the midfield for Newtown while Wilson Davidson, Bill Romaniello and Alek Glasrud played solid defense. Sean Kirk and Scott Shannon shared goal tending duties and combine for 10 saves on the day.

REDDING (A) 9, NEWTOWN (A) 5: Newtown led the contest thorough most of the day and finished the third quarter with a 5-4 advantage over their hosts. Unfortunately, Redding fought back with five unanswered goals in the fourth period to seal their victory over Newtown. Scoring for Newtown was spread across five players, including Erich Dinnan, Max Beitel, Scott Regnery, Alex Archie and Ian Tarrant. Assists on goals go to Matt Hill, and Ian Tarrant. Defensive standouts on this day included Alex Divico, Nick Maurer and Dan Murtha. Although not reflected in the final score , the Newtown keeper, Dave Lewis, had a great day in goal supporting his team with 15 saves.
