Labor Day Weekend Hours

C.H. Booth Library will be closed Saturday, August 30, through Monday, September 1, for the Labor Day Weekend. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 2, at 10 am.

 

Children’s Programs

*Story Hour Registration: Story hour registration begins August 21 and continues through September 3.

Four sessions for 2-year-olds and their caregivers are being offered on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning from 10 to 10:30 beginning September 8.

Classes for 3-5-year-olds will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 to 11:45 or Wednesday or Thursday afternoon from 1 to 1:45.

Your child must be a resident of Newtown and 2 or 3 years of age by September 8 to be eligible for this session.

No phone registrations will be accepted. Registration forms will be available in the children’s department on August 21.

 

Adult Programs

*Book Talks: It’s always interesting to discuss a book with a group, so come join one of the library’s ongoing book groups for some great conversation and lively discussion. New members are always welcome.

The Daytime Non-Fiction Group will meet on Tuesday, September 9, at 1 pm, to discuss Laura Hillenbrand’s Seabiscuit.

The Daytime Group will meet on Monday, September 8, at 1 pm, to talk about Life of Pi by Vann Martel.

The Mystery Book Group will meet on Tuesday, September 16, to talk about Pretty Maids All in a Row by Anthea Fraser. Call for start time.

The Evening Book Group will offer another chance to discuss Laura Hillenbrand’s Seabiscuit for those who can’t get away during the day, this time at 7:30 pm on Thursday, September 18.

*Labor Day Book Sale: Don’t forget to visit Fairfield Hills Bridgeport Hall for the Annual Friends of The Library Labor

Day Book Sale, which begins on Saturday, August 30, and continues daily until Wednesday, September 3.

During the summer, the library is open on Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm, Friday from noon to 5 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. Call the library at 426-4533 to register for any of its programs or for additional information.
