Concerta âI See Successâ ADHD Scholarship â Two hundred first prize scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded to applicants ages 6 to 18 that have a verifiable diagnosis of ADHD. There are six grand prize scholarships of $10,000. Entry forms and information are available at the Career Center or www.concrerta.net. Deadline is December 1.
The Burger King Scholars Foundation Award â Offers a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior with a minimum grade point average of 2.5, works an average of 15 hours per week, participates in community service and/or curricular activities, demonstrates financial need, and plans to enroll in a two- or four-year college, university, or vocational school in fall 2004. The Connecticut/United States Junior Chamber International Scholarship â Two $200 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who plan to pursue college directly after graduation. These award winners will have their applications forward to the US Senate Foundation to compete for 15 $1,000 scholarships. The Weller Foundation Vincent Voccia Vocational Award â Seniors who are full-time students at Newtown, Joel Barlow, Masuk, Shelton, or Trumbull high schools and planning a career in the skilled trades are eligible to apply for one scholarship equal to the lesser of $2,500, or 50 percent tuition cost or fees of the vocational-technical program proposed. The applicant must demonstrate interest and talent in his or her chosen field; financial need not considered. Applications must be returned by March 17, 2004.
The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship â Up to $6,000 is available per year for minority high school seniors who are US citizens to attend a four-year accredited college or university. Applicants must have an SAT score of 900 or higher, have leadership potential, and demonstrate financial need. Applications are available at www.jackierobinson.org or in the Career Center. Deadline is April 1, 2004.
