Newtown Youth Lacrosse Bantam girls’ highlights from this past week are as follows:

Underdogs vs Jumping Jelly Beans: For the Underdogs, Rylee Mulligan played strong defense, picking off many Jelly Bean passes. Carly Carpenter played aggressively from her attack position and Jillian Carrino controlled midfield by picking up numerous ground balls. For the Jumping Jelly Beans, Meagan LeBlanc and Dylan Zahansky scored and Brooke Varnum had an assist. Great defense by Alexis Mason and goaltending by Marisa Lametto.

Underdogs vs FTB’S: For the Underdogs, Courtney McDonald was solid in goal. Jenna Lavelle and Grace Tomchik put constant pressure on the FTB goaltender. Lauren Carrino set up numerous scoring opportunities from her midfield position. For the FTBS, Courtney Carroll and Kali Ryder were dominant on defense.

Meatballs vs FTB’S: For the Meatballs, McKenna Timmons played a solid game of defense. Katie Basset had a great showing in her debut as a goalie. Ashley Hammond played a great all-round game. For the FTB’S, Jackie Matthews and Kayla O’Rorke had strong efforts as battled for possession on offense.
