Ralph Quatrella

US Air Force Veteran

Ralph (Ozzie) Quatrella, 80, of Easton, a retired electrical engineer, died February 11 at St Vincent’s Medical Center. Born in Jamaica, N.Y., on October 24, 1926, he was a son of Leonard and Maria Dioguardi Quatrella.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Rita Caruso Quatrella; a brother, Dan Quatrella of Newtown; four sons, Leonard Quatrella and his wife, Laura, of Kenmore, Wash.; Joseph Quatrella and his wife, Doreen, of Seymour, Daniel Quatrella and his wife, Patty, of Easton, Frank Quatrella and his wife, Susan, of Harwinton; a sister, Norma Marshall of Bridgeport; three grandchildren, Michael, James, and Nicole; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.

Mr Quatrella was raised in Bridgeport and was a resident of Easton for more than 35 years. He served in the Merchant Marine and was a US Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War. He attended both the University of Bridgeport and the Bridgeport Engineering Institute and retired from Norden Systems of Norwalk. He was also employed for many years at Bunker Ramo of Bridgeport.

Mr Quatrella was a member of the Gallups Island Association and the Miamogue Yacht Club. His extreme concern for waterway safety prompted him to become a safety officer of the Power Squadron.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 16, at 11 am, meeting directly at Notre Dame of Easton Church, 640 Morehouse Road, Easton. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, February 15, from 4 to 8 pm, at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
