John B.         McKeone
John B. McKeone, 65, of Southbury, died March 10 at St Maryâs Hospital. He was the husband of Beverly (Blenis) McKeone. He was born August 5, 1938, in Schenectady, N.Y., son of the late John B. and Sophia (Sobieski) McKeone.
Mr McKeone was an avid square dancer and past president of the Rocking Rooster Square Dance Club in Newtown. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and willingness to help others with his computer expertise.
Mr McKeone graduated from RPI with a degree in metallurgy. He worked at Anaconda Brass in Waterbury and Detroit, and at the Aluminum Division in Miami, Fla. He was also employed at Ansonia Copper and Brass. He did consulting for several local businesses through his Rooster Graphics firm.
His management skills and knowledge of photography led him into a vice presidential position with Research Publications in Woodbridge. He was an Air Force veteran, serving during the Berlin crisis. He served as a deacon at the Center Congregational Church in Torrington, where he had lived before moving to Southbury more than 20 years ago. In Southbury, he was a Justice of the Peace. He was most recently a member of the New Horizon United Methodist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jon A. McKeone of Sterling, Va., and Erik S. McKeone of Bristol; a sister, Billie Jean Gates of East Amherst, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at the Southbury Funeral Home at Munson-Lovetere on March 13. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury.
