Kids Card Contest At Joy’s Hallmark In Sand Hill Plaza

To help kids’ creativity shine and give them a leg up on success, Joy’s Hallmark and Crayola® have teamed to present two special events in April just for kids: the “Kids Card Contest” and “Creative Kids Day.”

“We believe it’s important to recognize that children’s participation in art and other creative activities helps benefit them in a number of ways, like promoting self-esteem and encouraging self-expression,” says Stacey Lamb, Hallmark greeting card senior designer.

The Hallmark and Crayola® products “Kids Card Contest” – now in its third year – encourages kids ages 5 to 14 to create and submit their versions of the perfect birthday card. Twelve cards judged as the most creative, colorful, and original will be reproduced and sold nationwide at Hallmark Gold Crown Stores later in the summer. Free contest entry kits (no purchase required) can be picked up April 8 through 23 at Joy’s Hallmark in the Sand Hill Plaza while supplies last.

The contest kicks off with “Creative Kids Day” at Joy’s Hallmark Shop April 8. Activities will vary from store to store, but kids may have fun designing cards, decorating paper crowns fit for royalty, sculpting a masterpiece, cutting and coloring their own whimsical creations, and much more.

Starting with “Creative Kids Day” and running through April 23, Creative Kids Packs will be given away free with the purchase of three Hallmark greeting cards. The pack ($7.50 retail value) is full of surprises with everything from Crayola® Model Magic® modeling compound to a color-your-own puzzle.
