Police Probe Thefts From Vehicles On Diamond Drive

Police are investigating a string of nighttime thefts of items from motor vehicles that were parked in residential driveways along Diamond Drive, off Mt Pleasant Road.

Police said that sometime overnight on January 7–8, someone entered several unlocked motor vehicles that were parked in driveways along Diamond Drive.

Cash and electronic devices were stolen from those vehicles, police said.

Among the items taken were a DVD player, a laptop computer, a GPS automotive navigation device, and a wallet containing about $100 in cash, police said.

In another case, someone entered an unlocked vehicle there and rifled through the interior but no items were stolen, police said.

Police urge that residents keep their vehicles locked when unattended. Also, valuable items should not be left in plain sight within vehicles. Any valuables that are left in vehicles should be kept out of sight, locked away within the vehicles’ trunks.

Police ask anyone with information about the thefts of items from vehicles to contact them at 203-426-5841.
