DANBURY HOSPITAL

Pierre F. Saldinger, MD, a board-certified surgeon, has joined the medical staff of Danbury Hospital in the Department of Surgery, where he was appointed chief of general surgery. He brings extensive credentials to the oncology team at the Praxair Cancer Center, where he will specialize in benign and cancerous diseases of the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas. Previously he was an assistant professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School and surgical director of the gastrointestinal cancer program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston.

Mary A. Nolan, RN, MS, has joined Danbury Hospital as its vice president of nursing and chief nursing officer. She formerly was with the Albany Medical Center of Albany, N.Y., where she served as executive vice president of care delivery and hospital general director.

Donald I. Katz, MD, a cardiologist, has joined the medical staff of Danbury Hospital as a consulting physician and will provide care to community residents at Health Specialists of Southbury, 141 Main Street North. He formerly was with Ramapo Cardiology Associates, PC, of Suffern, N.Y.

NEW MLFORD HOSPITAL

Jedd Levine, MD, has joined the medical staff at New Milford Hospital and the New Milford Hospital-Columbia-Presbyterian Regional Cancer Center. He specializes in medical oncology/hematology and is board certified in both internal medicine and medical oncology. He formerly was with the Stanford University Medical Center.

ST VINCENT’S MEDICAL CENTER

Morton E. Salomon, MD, FACEP, FAAP, has been named chairperson of the Department of Emergency Medicine at St Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. He previously was senior vice president of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and director of emergency services at Montefiore Medical Center/The University Hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is board certified in emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, and in pediatrics.
