A Low Blow To Esty

To the Editor:

At the 5th District Congressional Debate on October 16th [in Danbury], Republican candidate Manny Santos assaulted the character of our Congresswoman, Elizabeth Esty. He obviously based his comments of the event on twisted things said by his Republican cohorts. If he had read articles by the News Times, he would know the fact that Congresswoman Esty handled the situation correctly, until the end, where she made a mistake. Congresswoman Esty did not lie; she owned that mistake. It cost Mrs Esty her job.

Congresswoman Esty has showed integrity over and over again. Ask veterans, seniors, Sandy Hook families, educators, POW/MIA families, Women’s rights groups, Gold Star families, business people, Planned Parenthood, and so many more about the outreach and caring of Congresswoman Esty and her staff. A character assassination is a low, Trumpian blow. I am not sure Mr Santos even answered the question that was asked. Even if Manny Santos was running unopposed, I would not vote for him.

Sincerely,

Mary T. Weber
