For the second week in a row, area high school football games are being pushed up in an effort to beat the rain.

Newtown High School’s gridders will visit New Milford, in the annual Boot Game, on Friday, November 9. Kickoff is set for 5 pm.

Originally scheduled to begin at 7 o’clock, an announcement was made on the morning of November 8 for a 6 pm opening kick. The game time has since been pushed to the same start time as last week when the Nighthawks and Brookfield Bobcats beat the rain, by minutes, in a 5 pm contest.

Newtown, coming off a 21-0 blanking of the Bobcats, is unbeaten at 8-0, and New Milford is 0-8.
