Gertrude A. “Trudy” Fritz, 84, of Newtown, died December 24, at the Pope John Paul II Health Center in Danbury. She was the wife of the late Russell Fritz. She was born in Sharon, March 25, 1925, to Frank and Louise Wodjenski of New Milford.

Mrs Fritz worked for Southern New England Telephone for 45 years as a manager in several Connecticut locations. She will be fondly remembered by those who knew her for her love of baking cookies and her Thanksgiving dinners, as well as her dry sense of humor, and her kind heart.

Her daughter-in-law Lucia; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews will sadly miss Mrs Fritz. She was preceded in death by her son John W. Fritz and five siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated December 30. Interment followed in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
