Occupation: I’m a paralegal at a firm in Danbury. I’ve been there for ten years.

Family: I have my husband, Dan. We’ll have been married 24 years in 2007. And we have two sons. Anthony is 15 and is a sophomore at Newtown High School. David is 12 and is in the seventh grade at Newtown Middle School.

Pets: We have two dogs, which are brother and sister. They are half Australian cattle dog and half Labrador. Their names are Ben and Miss. We also have two cats, Penny, and —you’ll love this — Miss. Miss Kitty, actually. And I have chickens. My husband built me a coop two summers ago and we have 21 hens now. I have beehives, too, since last summer. I’m crossing my fingers they over winter.

How long have you been in Newtown? We’ve been in Newtown for 12 years. I grew up in New Canaan and my husband grew up in Stamford and we moved here from South Norwalk. I’ve been in Connecticut my whole life, except for one year in Germany.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to spend time with my family. I like to garden, I like to read, and I like to go on walks. My kids play sports, so I enjoy going to their games, too. I also host holiday meals for my family and I’m known for my stuffing.

Do you have a favorite book? I like mysteries, memoirs, fiction, and nonfiction. I read all over the map. Ruth Rendell is my favorite author. She does mystery writing and psychological thrillers.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. We’ve been there twice and I love it. There is everything to do there, indoors and out. Bike trails, walking trails, all that kind of thing. Of course, I’ve only been there in August when it wasn’t raining….

What is the best thing about Newtown? There are lots of things I love. I love the road I live on; Huntingtown Road is beautiful. The accessibility of outdoor space is great, and I love Edmond Town Hall. I love the building, the murals, and the movies. Newtown is a real New England town. It’s a beautiful town.

What would you like to do that you have never done? I would love to go to Europe with my husband. He has never been there and I haven’t been since my junior year in college. That would be one of my top ten things to do.

Do you have a personal philosophy? Don’t let other people dictate your behavior.

What do you most cherish? My family and my extended family. That’s what I most cherish.
