NEW YORK CITY â âHank Feeley. âen fugue,â new workâ will be shown at First Street Gallery, February 1â26. An opening reception will take place Tuesday, February 1, 5 to 7 pm.

Feeley describes his oversized paintings as a visual collection of âbits and piecesâ assembled into a whole, like a musical composition, or âfugue,â whose central theme is carried by strongly differentiated parts.

The imagery in any one of the new paintings is an assemblage of visuals from TV news, billboards, Japanese cartoon characters, junk mail, packaged goods, textiles, Internet pop-up ads, pizza boxes and even loose change.

Feeley is a former international chairman/CEO and retired vice chairman of Leo Burnett International, Chicago. He has a PMD, 1976, from Harvard Business School. In 1995 he returned to the study of art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Feeley is represented in Chicago by the Aron Packer Gallery.

A lot of things have changed in Sandy Hook shopping area. The old bridge was no longer needed, the town helped create parking , brick sidewalks and classic street lights were added, and zoning was adjusted to add housing. Spending money on a bridge from nowhere makes no sense, focus on things that will add to the viability of the Sandy Hook Center.

I was the recipient of such a invasion of my privacy when my daughter was visiting her boyfriend in Waterbury. They tried to get me to pay them taxes instead of Newtown. They were rude, offensive and threatening and I had to call the mayor of Waterbury to finally get it cleared up after being threatened. It was a long drawn out process to get this overturned. Are we that broke that we have to turn our residents over to these mercenaries? This is beyond belief. How dare you hire these rent a cops to harass and threaten us?

Thanks for the quote, many people don’t realize Newtown does not exist in a silo and we have peers to benchmark against. For example Trumbull also spends less per student and outperforms us. ALL students benefit from consistent policies and quality education. Affordability matters, especially to less affluent families which tend to skew more heavily minority based on census data.
