The Western Connecticut Council Of Governments (WestCOG) is seeking public input on its upcoming Climate Action Plan.

As part of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is administering a new grant program, Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG), to combat climate pollution by funding greenhouse gas emission reduction measures.

The program will provide Planning Grants to states, local governments, tribes and territories to develop Climate Action Plans and Implementation Grants for projects, included in the Plan, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Readers are invited to take a survey and/or attend either of two scheduled virtual meetings.

Neighborhood Impacts will be featured on Monday, January 29, at 6 pm; and Proposed Climate Actions will be the focus on Wednesday, February 7, also at 6 pm.

The survey takes approximately ten minutes to complete and will be used to assess the projects and measures to reduce GHG emissions that are included in Southwest Connecticut’s Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP).

Feedback empowers eligible applicants to apply for competitive Implementation Grants (Spring ‘24) and provides the foundation for the forthcoming Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (2024-2026).

The Zoom meeting link and survey can be found at swctclimate.com/
