BOYS 8TH GRADE

WESTON 45, NEWTOWN 43: Stephen Lamb (14 points, 13 rebounds) and Josh Rouse (13 points, 10 rebounds) both had double-doubles, but Newtown could not overcome Weston. Pete Dittmar and Mike Cash played well.

NEWTOWN 43, NEW CANAAN 41: Brennan Coakley scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Josh Rouse had 10 points and five assists to lead Newtown. Marcus Tracy added nine points and three assists.

NEWTOWN 57, DANBURY 42: Marcus Tracy scored 17 points to lead Newtown. Brennan Coakley added 10 points and 19 rebounds while Stephen Lamb tossed in 11 points. Kyle Lyddy and Anthony Santella played well.

NEWTOWN 41, NEW CANAAN 34: Marcus Tracy scored 13 points and Stephan Lamb added 12 to lift Newtown to the win. Brennan Coakley grabbed 13 rebounds. John Collins and Scott Newberry played well.

GIRLS 8TH GRADE

NEWTOWN 37, WILTON 19: Megan LaFlamme scored 15 points while Meghan Kelley, Ashley Larocque and Emily Nezvesky combined for 15 more to lead Newtown past Wilton. Katie O’Connor, Jessica Palermo, and Siobhan Cooper were outstanding on the boards, combining for 22 rebounds.

NEWTOWN 55, REDDING 32: Newtown ran its record to 15-0 with a win over Redding. Ashley Larocque (13 points) and Emily Nezvesky (10 points) led the offense while Cooper, Kelley, LaFlamme, O’Connor and Jackie Curran combined for 32 points.

 

BOYS 7TH GRADE

ROGERS PARK 43, NEWTOWN 21: Drew Harmata scored eight points while Drew Adamek and Alex Caruso had four apiece to lead Newtown. Harmata also pulled down 12 rebounds.

WESTPORT 60, NEWTOWN 42: Marc Ingerman canned 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as Newtown fell to Westport. Brian Shimko had five rebounds.

BOYS 6TH GRADE

BLUE DEVILS 56, NEW CANAAN 46: Joey DeVellis canned 14 points (6-of-9 from the line) and dished out five assists to lead the Blue Devils past New Canaan. Ryan McGrath scored 10 while Kevin Regan, Michael Kennedy and Jack Quinn chipped in with six points apiece.

BLUE DEVILS 49, MONROE 36: Michael Kennedy led the offensive attack with 12 points while Kevin Regan added eight and Joe Bowen chipped in with seven to lead the Blue Devils to their 14th win of the season against just one loss. Tad Pierson dished off three assists. Brian Conroy was solid off the glass with 13 rebounds.

GIRLS 6TH/5TH GRADE

NEWTOWN 45, BEACON FALLS 15: Jill Logan scored 14 points, Amy Kelley added 10, and Samantha Wong tossed in eight in a win over Beacon Falls.

NEWTOWN 21, WILTON 10: Amy Kelley scored nine points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lift Newtown to the win. Jill Logan chipped in with six points and 11 rebounds. Darcy Fiscella had six steals and Samantha Wong tossed in four points.

NORWALK 46, NEWTOWN 19: Darcy Fiscella had seven points and three steals while Samantha Wong had four points, six rebounds and three steals in the loss. Erin Baier had a strong floor game.

BOYS 5TH GRADE

NEWTOWN 45, NEW CANAAN 44: Danny Smith scored 11 points while Kevin Troy and Jason Smith combined for 20 more as Newtown slipped past New Canaan in overtime. New Canaan was up by three with three seconds left in regulation when Michael Maher canned a three-pointer to tie the game.

NEWTOWN 39, BETHEL 27: Greg Rodden scored 10 points to lead Newtown past Bethel. PJ Cochrane, Matt Boland and Max Vargas all had solid games. Michael Maher, Danny Giorno and Jared Modzelewski combined for eight steals.

NEW CANAAN 45, NEWTOWN 19: Michael Maher and Danny Giorno combined for 12 points and eight rebounds in the loss.

NEWTOWN 45, BETHEL 28: Greg Rodden and Kevin Troy combined for 20 points while Danny Giorno and Michael Maher combined for 12 more to pace Newtown in its win over Bethel.

NEWTOWN 38, EASTON 33: Michael Maher canned 15 points and Greg Rodden added 10 to lead Newtown over Easton. Kevin Troy and Danny Giorno combined for 12 points. Matt Boland, Jared Modzelewski and Matt Mascola led the D.
