Tomasulo Promoted At Excel

Newtown resident Brian Tomasulo has been promoted by Excel Communications to the position of regional director.

Mr Tomasulo, 20, is the company’s youngest active regional director in New England and the youngest to earn the title in the state of Connecticut. A 1999 graduate of Newtown High School, where he was a wrestling standout, Mr Tomasulo became an independent representative with Excel last summer while working full-time at Newtown Bagelman. He also is a full-time student at Plymouth State College in New Hampshire, where he is a junior and vice president of the Phi Beta Upsilon fraternity.

Based in Dallas, Tex., Excel Communications is a direct seller of telecommunications products and services such as long distance, paging, Internet, wireless, web hosting, and e-commerce. The company does its business entirely through independent representatives offering people the chance to earn additional income on a part-time basis in a home-based business setting.

Now in its 14th year, Excel is the largest privately held telecommunications company in the world and is in the process of delivering local service to 90 percent of the United States, which will make Excel the largest local carrier in the country, according to a company spokesman.
