Family: My husband is Ray, and we’ve been married for nearly 25 years; and we have our son Joey, who’s 18 years old and a senior at Newtown High School.

Pets: We have a dog, Sam, a rescue. He’s seven years old and still acts like a puppy at times. He’s a Lab-pitbull mix.

How long have you lived in Newtown? My family moved here in 1978, to Sandy Hook, the Great Ring Farm area. We always used to play on Great Ring Farm as children. I’ve been here since, and we now live in Newtown.

Career: I’ve been working for the Newtown Board of Education for 20 years now. I’ve been in many different positions, but my current position is Data Administrator at Newtown High School.

Are you part of any local organizations? I’m the president of the C.H. Booth Library Board of Trustees. I’ve been on the board five years now, and I love serving my community.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love to be outdoors. The beach is my happy place. I love to garden, walk, just anything outdoors. We used to do a lot of camping as a family.

Who or what has been the greatest influence on your life? My late father, Bob. He instilled a lot of good values in me: how to be a hard worker, to be a people person, to really interact with people.

What is something you cannot live without? My reading glasses and my lip gloss. (laughs)

Who is your favorite musical artist? I love classic rock, and I’m lucky enough that my son Joey also loves classic rock as well. Led Zeppelin is one of my favorite classic rock bands.

What was the last concert you went to see? We went to see a Led Zeppelin cover band in New Haven, right before the pandemic.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given? It came from my father: Always treat people how you would want to be treated.

What is your proudest accomplishment? Our son.

What is your favorite travel destination? We go to Anna Maria Island in Florida every year. We’ve been going for 13 years, and we just love the beach there.

What is the best part about Newtown? The history. I love that this was a farming community, the historical houses on Main Street, the historical landmarks. And the memories — the pool at the town park, and going to see the fireworks over the hill behind the country club.

What is something you’d like to see covered by The Newtown Bee? More stories about people in the community.

Do you have a personal credo or mantra? Corbos don’t quit!
