The Newtown Chamber of Commerce continues to host free monthly networking events open to all local business professionals. The next event will be held at Sal e Pepe Contemporary Italian Bistro, 97 South Main Street, on Wednesday, February 8, from 8 to 9 am. This month's guest speaker will be Jeff Cowden, an arborist consultant with Riccio Landscaping & Tree Service.

His presentation, "Emerald Ash Borer an Insect: The Threat to Local Ash Trees," will cover the invasion of the emerald ash borer beetle and how it is destroying native ash trees. It will also show what actions homeowners should take to preserve these trees.

Mr Cowden has been working in the field of arboriculture for more than 25 years. He is an active member of Toastmasters International and a director on the Newtown Chamber of Commerce Board. Light refreshments will be served.

Breakfast networking sessions are hosted by the Newtown Chamber of Commerce, and are held monthly on the second Wednesday of each month. Those interested in guest speaking can contact Chamber Business Development Director Helen Brickfield at 203-470-9587 or email helenbrickfield@newtown-ct.com.

There is no charge to attend this event and reservations are not necessary.
