Jewelry & Art Sale To Benefit Newtown Ambulance

The Homesteads At Newtown Senior Living Community will host a jewelry and art sale on Sunday, February 6, from noon to 5 pm.

Heritage Village Brush & Pencil Club will have works on display, including oils, watercolors, pen and inks, acrylics and pastels. Charming miniatures will also be among the offerings.

Also featured will be the spring collection of handcrafted jewelry from Helen’s Gem Collection. Helen Bizonova and her husband create original sterling silver designs, showcasing hand-selected semi-precious gemstones.

Twenty-five percent of all proceeds will benefit the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association. In addition, the public is also invited to enjoy live music in The Two Bears Pub at The Homesteads from 2:30 to 3:30 pm.

The afternoon’s entertainment will be by Sid Madwed, a poet, lyricist and whimsical keyboardist who mixes the old familiar songs with original creations.  Mr Madwed, who is now 78 years old, says he “is having too much fun to retire!”

Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

The Homesteads At Newtown is at 166 Mt Pleasant Road (Route 6) in Newtown. For more information, call The Homesteads at 426-8118.
