Family Valentine Fun
Family Valentine Fun
WATERBURY â Get ready for fun that the whole family can enjoy when The Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center hosts âBe My Valentine: Valentineâs Day Through the Agesâ on Sunday, February 14, from 1 to 3 pm. The workshop will be led by Deborah Lasher, an experienced art teacher who works with kindergarten through sixth grade students at Artsplace in Cheshire. Ms Lasher is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, specializes in colored pencils, and loves working with children who are naturally open to creativity. She has chosen crafts that all family members can enjoy doing together.
Antique valentines from the museumâs collections will provide a glimpse into Valentineâs Days gone by.
The Valentineâs Day celebration is part of Museum Sunday and admission is free for everyone. An art gallery tour will begin at 1 pm, followed by a tour of the history gallery at 2. Other current exhibits include âBanded Together: The Story of the Naugatuck Valley Projectâ and âThe Waterbury Button Museum.â
The museum is at 144 West Main Street, with convenient, free parking is located directly behind the museum on Park Place. It is open until 5 pm on Sundays.
