IRS Uses Social Media For Tax Season

Connecticut taxpayers can now access the latest tax news and daily tax tips from the IRS Connecticut Media Relations office on Twitter.

Connecticut taxpayers can access the IRS information at: www.twitter.com/GREGGIRS .

During the tax season, the latest tax information will be posted on a routine basis including daily tax tips. This will provide taxpayers with information to assist them in preparing their federal tax returns. Tax information posted on Twitter will include information on electronic filing, tips on choosing a tax preparer, and the Recovery tax provisions.

Taxpayers can get information about the numerous tax breaks made available in the recovery tax provisions. The tax tips provide information on the new tax-saving opportunities such as the making work pay credit for most workers, American Opportunity education credit for parents and college students, energy credits for homeowners going green, homebuyer credit, sales tax deduction for new car buyers, and the expanded child tax credit and earned income tax credit for low- and moderate-income workers.
