Youth Track Team Competes In AAU Invitational In New Haven

The Newtown Hawks youth track team competed in the Northeast regional AAU Invitational on January 31 at Coxe Cage on the Yale campus in New Haven.

Led by Vanya Donahers’ second-place finishes in the 1500-meter (5:23) and 800 (2:39), the team finished third overall in the meet.

Justin Saint added two second place finishes in the 55 dash and shot put, while Brenton Scotts took home a second-place medal in the 800 in a time of 2:34. Cole Terry captured second in the long jump and Chris Manfredi took fourth. Jillian Vazquez earned a bronze medal in the long jump and Rachel Zambernaidi was the third-place finisher in the 200 meters.
