Richard Elvin Lake

US Army Veteran

Richard Elvin Lake, 77, of Danbury, died January 23 at Harborside-Glen Hill Health Care. Mr Lake was born in Danbury, December 1, 1931, son of Charles and Mary (Brill) Lake.

Survivors include four sons, three daughters, a stepdaughter, and a sister, Katherine Mallard of Newtown; as well as several other relatives.

He was a US Army veteran serving from 1952 to 1954, honorably discharged as a corporal. He was a tree surgeon with Hissong and Weyant of Danbury, retiring in 1996. Mr Lake enjoyed fishing and playing cribbage. A former member of the Arion Singing Society, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars of Danbury and St James’ Episcopal Church.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Friday, February 6, from noon to 3 pm, at the VFW Hall, 5 Byron Street, Danbury.
