To the Editor,

My wife and I lived in Newtown for thirty years and moved away twenty years ago but we continue to subscribe to The Bee.

In this time of extreme politics and hatred that has even reached Newtown, I would like to congratulate The Bee on keeping on a straight course that keeps a balance that we all need to follow. I truly believe it is one of the best local newspapers in the country.

I especially would like to thank Sherri and Scott Baggett for the leadership they have shown as they guide the paper. I imagine the two of them have had many heartfelt and serious conversations on this subject. I know R. Scudder Smith and Paul Smith would be proud of them both.
