Ricci's Salon & Spa will host a cut-a-thon on Sunday, May 15, from 10 am until 4 pm.

Men's barber haircuts will be $20, women's haircut and blow-dry will be $25, and women's blowouts will be $15. Walk-ins will be accommodated, but appointments are available and suggested; call 203-426-1611 for an appointment.

Homes For Our Troops is a national nonprofit which builds handicap houses for young disabled members of the military, at no cost to the solider. Proceeds from the Ricci's event will be used by Homes For Our Troops to build a custom handicapped accessible home for a 22-year-old Connecticut Army Ranger who has returned home with life-altering injuries.

SPC Sean Pesce was shot 13 times in Afghanistan, sustaining damage to several major organs, with one bullet severing his spine. The West Haven resident is permanently paralyzed from the waist-down.

All hairstylists are donating their time to help raise funds for the project.

Ricci's Salon & Spa is within South Marketplace Plaza, at 99 South Main Street in Newtown.
