Connecticut may seem tame, but it has been in the midst of earth-shaping events for nearly a billion years. Participants will learn about the remarkable history of certain locations within Connecticut such as a ballfield in Deep River that reveals where continents once collided, a park in Rocky Hill that preserves a dinosaur community of 200 million years ago, and a bog in Goshen that had its origins in the last Ice Age.

Mr Hanrahan will sign books following the talk. Copies of several titles will be available for purchase.

Cost is $25 per person, which includes brunch and museum admission in addition to the presentation. For reservations, call 203-432-5099 or send email to peabody.pr@yale.edu.

The museum is at 170 Whitney Avenue in New Haven.
