Raymond J. Milot

Raymond J. Milot, 82, died peacefully February 8 at Avow Hospice House, Naples, Fla. He was one of eight children born to Lillian (Bell) and Charles Milot. He lived most of his life in Connecticut, including Stratford and Newtown.

He was a graduate of Fairfield Preparatory School (1950) and Notre Dame University (1954). After graduation he enlisted in the US Army.

Most of his life he worked in banking, but was also a bar owner and bartender for many years. He had a great wit and sense of humor, and a wonderful smile. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He married his best friend, Jacquelyn Somerside, in 1988.

His wife; three children, Angela Milot, Raymond Milot, and wife Christine, and Robin Davenport, and husband Peter; his sisters Joan Clark and Nancy Duhamel, and husband Peter, all of Sandy Hook; brothers Edward Milot and Charles Milot, and wife Pat; and seven grandchildren survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 30, in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, at 11 am. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery.
