Calderbank Speaking About Speaking At WWF, March 12
The Working Women’s Forum, an association of local professionals and entrepreneurs, will feature “Refining Your Public Speaking: Deliver Your Message Effectively” with Newtown resident and IT professional Alenda Calderbank on Wednesday, March 12, at The Villa Restaurant, 4 Riverside Road.
Networking and light dinner begin at 6 pm, followed by the guest speaker.
Many people find public speaking to be daunting, and have been discouraged from pursuing opportunities in order to avoid it, according to Ms Calderbank, a member of Toastmasters since 2005. In her talk, she will describe ways to get comfortable speaking before a group.
Whether working in a corporate office or a member of the PTA, a vivacious speaker can refine their message to better reach an audience without stage fright.
The program and dinner fee is $10 for members, $25 for non-members, with a cash bar. The group gratefully accepts canned food, personal health and beauty items for the FAITH Food Pantry.
For reservations register with email to rsvp@workingwomensforum.net or call WWF President Pat Marlin at 203-426-7022.
