Winslow Orabona, 88 years old, died on February 12, 2020, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Born on September 28, 1931, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, he was married to Lydia Maria Cuadro Orabona on August 29, 1952.

They formerly lived in the Bronx; Homestead, Florida; Sandy Hook, Connecticut; and 2018 they moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Lydia was a very religious woman; she spent countless hours praising the Lord and the Blessed Virgin Mary by praying and painting religious statues. Lydia was a master seamstress who made many of her children’s clothing. Lydia was a symbol of love and caring. She would deny herself everything for the sake of her daughters and grandchildren. Lydia enjoyed laughing and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was devoted to her family and was known for her high level of intelligence, kindness, and generosity.

Also, Lydia loved animals. She would take care of them as if they were her little children. Lydia was an incredible human being, a model of kindness and caring, and leaves a void that can never be filled.

She was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Winslow Orabona was a social worker and accountant in New York City and obtained his Juris Doctorate in California later in his career. He worked tirelessly for the sake of his family. He helped many indigent people. He educated many small business owners as their accountant in New York.

His clients became life-long friends. Winslow spoke the following languages: Latin, Spanish, French, Italian, Yiddish, and English.

He was a devoted spouse, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Both Lydia and Winslow were most proud of their daughters and sons-in-law, Dr Janet Orabona Burke, Board Certified Behavior Analyst-D, LBA, University Professor, and Patrick Burke, spouse; and Elaine Orabona Foster, PhD, ABPP, Psychologist, Lt Col (ret.) USAF, and Joe Foster, spouse.

They were grandparents to Sergeant Daniel Burke, Guenevere Burke, M.D., Officer Benjamin Rushakoff, and Andrew Rushakoff (Computer Programmer); and great-grandparents to Kiera Elizabeth Downey and Mateo Johnathan Burke.

Services will be held at St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown, Conn., on March 14, 2020, at 10 am.

Both Lydia and Winslow were devoted to Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and were dedicated to the Catholic Faith.
