Newtown High School’s dance team won the Large Jazz category and came in third in Hip Hop during the State Championships at Hamden High on February 25.

The Jazz dance was choreographed by Head Coach Emily Marks. Hip hop was choreographed by Newtown’s The Station Dance Academy owners Nicole Russo-Henderson and Leon Henderson.

Senior captains are Adriana Russo, Paige Armstrong, Summer Gordon, and Grace Cappelli. The rest of the roster includes: Brenna Navin, Olivia McAndrew, Mackenzie Roszman, Sara Olam, Emma Formica, Morgan Harrison, Devyn Reilly, Ashley Shrader, Lillian Caico, Lindsay Myer, Sienna Guaragno, Alexandra Kinsey, Ava Warner, Piper Adolfson, Phoenix Sealey, Kathryn Kavovit, Kayla Sinapi, Sophia Martinez, Olivia Gulalo, Lila Spencer, and Aquinnah Schmidt.
