Genealogy Club To Meet March 10

“Virtual Roots: Practical Resources for Family History Research on the Web” will be the topic of discussion at the Genealogy Club of Newtown meeting at C.H. Booth Library on Wednesday, March 10, at 7 pm. The public is invited to attend.

Thomas Jay Kemp, a well-known librarian and genealogist, and associate director of the Godfrey Memorial Library in Middletown, will share his expertise on Internet research. Mr Kemp has served as chair of the American Library Association’s Genealogy and Local History Discussion Group, served as vice president of the Association of Professional Genealogists, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Federation of Genealogical Societies.

Mr Kemp is the author of more than two dozen books and databases. His most current book is Virtual Roots 2.0: A Guide to Genealogy and Local History on the World Wide Web.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street in Newtown. Club members are from Newtown, Shelton, Brookfield, Danbury, Trumbull, Redding, Southbury, and New Milford.
