The state Department of Public Works has contracted with DeMarco, Miles and Murphy, Inc of Hartford to manage and provide security at the Fairfield Hills campus to replace Tunxis Management.
âThe company took over Monday,â First Selectman Herb Rosenthal said Tuesday. He said the company intends to retain all former subcontractors that were employed through Tunxis.
The company would manage the campus, Mr Rosenthal said, and have a representative there 40 hours a week.
Mr Rosenthal said he, Public Works Director Fred Hurley, Buildings and Grounds Supervisor Dominick Posca, and other town personnel met with representatives of DeMarco, Miles and Murphy on Monday.
He said Tunxis representatives have said they would make themselves available to the new management company if any questions come up.
Tunxis gave up the Fairfield Hills contract as of February 29. The company had been providing management services for the state at Fairfield Hills on a month-to-month basis.
