According to Mr Marshall, employers taking part in the spring Connecticut Career Fairs will have “an excellent opportunity to meet with and talk to a variety of potential candidates possessing professional, technical/high tech, administrative or production backgrounds and with experience ranging from entry to management level skills. Jobseekers will do well to bring along plenty of résumés and should plan on making the rounds of every exhibitors’ booth to talk about what they can bring to an employer.”

The four career fairs on the spring calendar include:

*The Danbury Career Fair, which will take place March 20 at the Ethan Allen Inn, 21 Lake Avenue Extension in Danbury. Co-sponsored by Cumulus Media, the City of Danbury, and the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, it will run from 11 am to 3 pm in the hotel’s ballroom.

*The Manchester Career Fair, co-sponsored with Manchester Community College, will take place Saturday, April 14 at the school, 60 Bidwell Street. To be held in the Great Path Academy Gymnasium.

*The Heroes4Hire Fair, co-sponsored by the Connecticut Veterans Administration, now in its eighth year, will take place April 27 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford and run from 11 am to 3 pm.  The special event is held for Connecticut residents who have served in the Armed Services, the Connecticut National Guard and/or Reserves who are looking for employment.

*Middlesex Career Fair will take place June 19 from 11 am to 2:30 pm at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell, 100 Berlin Road. Co-sponsors include the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce and the Workforce Alliance.

Statistics show that this agency’s career fairs reach more jobseekers than any other employment event in the state, Mr Marshall said. He attributes that to the fact that the Connecticut Department of Labor often partners with community colleges, chambers of commerce and workforce development associations.

That partnership, he points out, helps to ensure the success of the job fairs by focusing on the local employment needs of the business community.

Companies interested in registering as an exhibitor at any of the spring Connecticut Career Fairs can do so visiting the Department of Labor’s Job Fair website at www.ctjobfairs.com.
