Theresa “Terry” B. Curry peacefully passed away surrounded by family in her beloved Newtown home of 61 years at the age of 89 on March 5, 2020, at 11:11 am. She was born on February 25, 1931, in Shenandoah, Penn., a coal mining town, and was the daughter of Peter and Sophie Andras. She was predeceased by her younger brother, Peter (Charlie) Andras, of Alabama.

Terry was very active at the Newtown Senior Center for the last 24 years; she volunteered for quilting, knitting, and sewing projects for the center. Her favorite activities were anything involving her family, going out to lunch, bingo, casino visits, and quilting. She was a retired employee of the Danbury Pathmark grocery store with 25 years of dedicated service. She was also an auxiliary member of the Hawleyville Fire Department since the early 1960s and loved the annual clambakes and Christmas parties.

Terry is survived by her four daughters, Eileen Barchi and husband, Frank, of Bradenton, Fla.; Donna Lyon of Newtown; Terry Laslo and her husband, Jack, of Newtown; and Patty Curry of High Falls, N.Y. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Maggie (Lyon) Dalton and her husband, Patrick Dalton, of New Haven, Conn.; Zachary Lyon of Rincón, Puerto Rico; and Mark Laslo and his fiancée, Maggie Jones, of Lincoln, R.I.

The family extends its gratitude for the loving care given to Terry by both Regional Hospice of Danbury and Danbury Nurses Registry.

We know that Mom had so many friends that would want to celebrate her life with us but due to the coronavirus, we have decided to have a private service to keep everyone healthy and safe. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 68, Hawleyville CT 06440; or on their website at hawleyvillefire.com.
