Red Cross & CT Lottery Partnering

To ‘Save A Life, Win For Life’

FARMINGTON — The Connecticut Lottery Corporation, as part of its Community Outreach initiative, is joining with the American Red Cross, Connecticut Blood Services Region to ensure an adequate blood supply for the residents of Connecticut with the “Save a Life, Win for Life” program.

At five Connecticut Lottery-sponsored community blood drives in April, all presenting blood donors age 18 or older will each receive a complimentary Connecuticut Lottery “Win for Life” scratch ticket and other assorted promotional items provided by the lottery. Win for Life, one of the lottery’s top selling games since it was first released nearly a decade ago, features a top prize of $5,000 a month for life (total minimum prize payout of $1 million) to the winner.

As an added bonus, each presenting blood donor age 21 or older will have the chance to enter to win a three-day Carnival Cruise for two to the Bahamas, also courtesy of the Connecticut Lottery. Drawings will be held once the last donor for each event day has registered.

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation is sponsoring a blood drive on Monday, April 19, at the Inn at Ethan Allen, 21 Lake Avenue Extension in Danbury, from noon to 4:45 pm. Other drives are scheduled for Meriden, Milford, Norwalk, and Enfield.

Anyone who is 17 or older, weighs 110 pounds or more and is in generally good health, is probably eligible to donate blood. Call 800-GIVE LIFE (800-448-3543) to make an appointment today for any upcoming community blood drive in Connecticut. Appointments may also be requested by visiting the website at www.bloodct.org. Positive ID is required to donate blood.
