Robert F. Manheimer, 66, husband of Grace (Huston) Manheimer of Hanover Road, Newtown, died unexpectedly on March 23.
Mr Manheimer was born in The Bronx, N.Y., on September 21, 1937, a son of the late Harold J. and Margaret (Broderick) Manheimer. He graduated in 1969 from Pace University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and was employed as an accountant for City Group in Stamford until his retirement in 1998.
Following his retirement, Bob was an active volunteer for Literacy Volunteers, FISH of Newtown, and Newtown Meals on Wheels where he also served on the Board of Directors. Bob volunteered one day a week at Danbury Hospital in the Ambulatory Transportation Department. A resident of Newtown since 1976, he was a member of St Rose of Lima Parish and was a currency engineer there.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jenifer Caprio of Bethel, and Lauren Tannone of New Milford; a brother, Gerald Manheimer of Kansas, and a sister, Patricia Terkildsen of Hyde Park, N.Y.
Funeral Services were scheduled to be held Friday, March 26, at 10 am, from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, and at 10:30 am in St Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St Rose Cemetery. Visitation was scheduled at the Honan Funeral Home on Thursday, March 25, from 3 to 5 pm, and from 7 to 9 pm.
