Saturday, April 8

Annual Children’s Fishing Derby, 8 am-noon, Dickinson Park Pool, Brushy Hill Road, free and open to all children age 12 and under. Town pool will be stocked with 250 trout. Children in 3 age groups can earn prizes for largest catch, first 5 fish caught, first fish caught, et al. Refreshments for purchase, also bait and tackle for purchase. Sponsored by Newtown Fish & Game Club.

Newtown Woman’s Club 13th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair, 10 am-4 pm, Edmond Town Hall gymnasium, 45 Main Street; 40 artists and crafters, baked goods and refreshments, all proceeds going to local charities. 426-5532.

Newtown Coffee House, 7:30 pm, Newtown Congregational Church House, 41-A Main Street. Admission $5, includes performance and refreshments. Evening begins with one hour of open mic for local performers, then concert by guest performer Dave De Angelis of traditional sea chanteys and contemporary sea music; 270-8858.
