I. Charlotte Simko

I. Charlotte Leuze Simko, 69, wife of Arthur Simko of 9 Nettleton Drive, Newtown, died March 31 in Danbury Hospital.

She was born in Gelfenhargen, Germany, June 18, 1930, daughter of the late Karl and Hedwig (Steinke) Herse. She came to the United States in 1959, residing in Stamford. She later moved to Bethel and has been a resident of Newtown since 1989.

She is survived, besides her husband, by two daughters, Dagmar Budd of Atlanta, Ga., and Diana Howard of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Fritz and Heinz Herse, both of Germany; three sisters, Lily Godfrend of Stamford, Dora Peters and Ursula Knopp, both of Germany. She is also survived by step-mother Henna Herse of Germany; and three grandchildren, Christopher and Alex Budd and Ryan Howard.

A Memorial Service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Mt Pleasant Road, Newtown, on May 6 at 11 am. Cremation was in Mt Grove Crematory, Bridgeport.
