Laurence D. Wyman

Laurence D. Wyman, 70, of 8 Sullivan Farm, New Milford, husband of Louise (Desimone) Wyman, died April 3 at his home.

He was the father of Bradford J. Wyman of Newtown.

Mr Wyman was born in Newark, N.J., January 31, 1930, a son of the late Francis L. and Mary Catherine (Holmes) Wyman.

He was a graduate of Seton Hall University in New Jersey, where he received his MBA. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a sergeant in the US Marines. He was employed for a number of years at McCall’s magazine in New York City; later he was employed for a number of years by McGraw-Hill Publishing in Stamford.

He had lived in Katonah, N.Y. from 1968 to 1992, when he moved to New Milford.

He had been a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church and also had been a volunteer at the New Milford Hospital Columbia-Presbyterian Cancer Center in New Milford.

Besides his wife and son, he is survived by another son, Drew L. Wyman of Northampton, Mass.; one daughter, Tracey S. Wutka of North Granby; four grandchildren, Caroline, Sarah, and Lauren Wutka and Charlie Wyman.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 8, at 1 pm in Our Lady of the Lakes Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the New Milford Hospital Columbia-Presbyterian Regional Cancer Center, 21 Elm Street, New Milford, CT 06776, or to the New Milford Visiting Nurse Association, 68 Parklane Road, New Milford, CT 06776.

Arrangements were by the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford.
