Open Space For Active Singles

RIDGEFIELD — On Sunday, April 16, Active Singles will host a hike for singles at Ridgefield’s Open Space, off Miry Brook Road.

Hikes will be offered at four difficulty levels, and will begin at 9:45 am. Early arrival is suggested, as an average of 200 people have been participating in the group’s outings lately. Hikers should bring or wear hiking boots, and bring water with them. The hikes will last approximately two hours.

Active Singles is a non-profit group based in Torrington that sponsors hikes on the first and third Sunday of each month in various locations across the state. Please note that hikes are for adults only; dogs and children are not allowed. An optional brunch follows each hike. There is never a fee collected for the hikes, nor are dues collected for membership.

The group will be meeting on Sunday morning in the parking lot of Maimonides Academy, at 103 Miry Brook Road. Take I-84 to Exit 3, and then take the ramp for Danbury Airport; turn left at the light at the end of the ramp onto Sugar Hollow Road, and then right at the next light, onto Miry Brook Road; at the fork, bear left at the stop sign and continue on Miry Brook for one-half mile, Maimonides Academy will be on the right.

For additional information or to sign up for the post-hike brunch on April 16, call Charlie Gergley at 860/489-9611 or send e-mail to activesingles@snet.net.
