Performance By Promising Young Soprano At Weston Library

WESTON — Sarah Vogel, a Weston High School senior and a talented soprano whose operatic audition earned her a place in the highly competitive Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s summer program in Lenox, Mass., the past two summers, will sing in a program sponsored by The Weston Commission for the Arts, on Saturday, April 15. Miss Vogel will perform in the community room of Weston Library at 58 Norfield Road, at 8 pm.

Miss Vogel is a member of the Madrigal Choir and the Woman’s Chorus at Weston High School. Mahlon Peterson, the vocal director at the school, describes Miss Vogel’s voice as “a fine, clear, soprano.” In addition, she has been very active in sports as a member of the field hockey team and the varsity swimming team. She also participated in track for two years.

A program of both classical and popular music will include, among others, Purcell’s Sweeter Than Roses, Rossini’s La Promisse, and Loesser’s “If I Were a Bell” from Guys and Dolls.

Admission is free. For additional information, Weston Library can be reached by calling 203/222-2656.
