Nighthawk Laxmen Topple Mustangs 16-7

Newtown High School’s boys’ lacrosse team defeated visiting Immaculate of Danbury 16-7 at Blue & Gold Stadium, on April 13. The Nighthawks went out of conference, and out of town, to take on Daniel Hand of Madison on April 15, and fell 17-4.

In the win over the Immaculate Mustangs, Eli Williams had three goals, two assists, and four ground ball scoops; Sam Steare had two goals and three assists; Colby Harrell had two goals and two assists; Gavin Doyle and Marcus Gerace both had two goals and an assist, and Doyle had four ground balls; J.J. Haddick had two goals and four ground balls; Kyle Ruddy netted a goal and had an assist; Fisher Stites compiled a goal, 12 ground balls, and a 17-for-23 effort in faceoffs; and Marty Dunn logged a goal.

The Nighthawks, after visiting Danbury on Wednesday and hosting Weston on Thursday, will host Bethel Saturday, April 22 at noon. The Hawks return home Tuesday, April 25 for a 7 pm Senior Night contest against Brookfield at Blue & Gold Stadium.
