State Police Seeking Two Evading Responsibility For Incident

Newtown Police assisted State Police seeking two two individuals who had fled on foot from a motor vehicle accident on I-84.

At 1:29 pm Wednesday, April 22, the Connecticut State Police contacted the Newtown Police Department to request assistance in searching for two individuals who had fled on foot from a motor vehicle accident on I-84. The individuals were last seen in the area of The Boulevard in Newtown.

The police department communicated with schools and living facilities in the area to maintain the safety of all students and residents. This resulted in a short delay to school dismissals.

Officers located and arrested one of the individuals on School House Hill Road. The CT State Police is handling the criminal investigation into this matter.

Newtown Police Officers have cleared the search area and are remaining at the area schools to ensure a smooth and safe dismissal.
