A Prescription For Adventure

WATERBURY — The Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center will kick off its 2008-09 travel program with “Travel: A Prescription for Adventure” on Thursday, May 15, at 5:30 pm.

The evening will feature an exhilarating presentation by Peter Jacoby and Paul Largay, guaranteed to fill each attendee with a yearning to travel. Admission is free.

Dr Peter Jacoby, director of emergency services at Saint Mary’s Hospital, and Paul Largay (“Dr Travel”) of Largay Travel will share stories about their recent African odyssey. Their presentation and corresponding slides recount numerous face-to-face encounters with the nearly extinct mountain gorillas of Rwanda and a daunting quest for the summit and snows of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

Rounding out the program will be Mina DiSora and Amanda Kilimack, Largay Travel’s travel specialists, who will describe the 2008–09 museum travel calendar.  The Mattatuck Museum is designing its upcoming travel programs to meet travel and cultural interests of members.

The Mattatuck Museum Arts and History Center, at 144 West Main Street, can be reached for additional information at 203-753-0381 extension 10.
