Earth Friendly Experience Brought Out Newtown Vendors

BETHEL — In honor of Earth Month, the recent Mind Body Soul Experience and Go Green Earth Gallery brought several Newtown businesses and wellness providers together at the Stony Hill Inn April 19. From getting help designing a “green home,” to sitting in on a yoga class; from learning how to get organized to having your aura read, exhibits, seminars, and workshops provided a wide variety of topics on natural health and living, personal growth, relationships, spirituality, and global consciousness.

Music from I-95 FM provided some background energy while visitors sampled organic beverages, complimentary massages, holistic body therapies, natural health products, the latest in alternative energy sources, and eco-friendly products.

According to event promoter, Gail Meehan of Promotions In Motion, the term “physical well-being” is the result of good nutrition and an active lifestyle.

“An increasing number of people are adopting a more holistic interpretation, expanding their definition to include mental and spiritual well-being as well,” she said in a preevent release. “That’s what Mind Body Soul Experience is all about — products, services, and ideas to help nourish the mind, embrace the balance of life and strengthen your inner self. It is also a celebration of human spirituality through personal readings and holistic healing.”

The Go Green Earth Gallery offered practical information on how to put more “green” in one’s life by showcasing lifestyle choices that help to sustain the environment rather than deplete it.

Dan Holmes of Holmes Fine Gardens was on hand promoting organic landscaping practices and products, as well as promoting Newtown’s Earth Day celebration, which was held April 26. Windowland of Newtown owner Tony Gorin and General Manager Tony Zannino came to chat up the energy saving benefits of their insulating windows and doors.

Newtowner Karen Udiskey, Jackie Schappert, and several other staff members from A New Beginning Salon and Day Spa in Bethel provided relaxing hand massages and dispensed samples of the spa’s many natural products. Representing R Mathison Floors, Tom Bundy of Newtown met visitors who heard about the process of using natural corn to create carpet foundation that is used on a number of their environmentally friendly floor treatments.
